The perfect recipe for Valentine's Day, or any occasion where you'd like to make a yummy blend that is highly nutritious for tube feeding, but also delicious for sharing with family members that eat by mouth.
This recipe might look like a decadent treat, but in fact, it has no added sugar. There's a secret ingredient that boosts the calories, protein and fibre in this blend....and adds to the chocolatey experience.
Can you guess what it is?
It's black beans- believe it or not! I promise you can't taste them. In fact, my husband drank a whole portion of this blend and could not identify my secret ingredient :)

Ingredients:
1 cup sliced strawberries (fresh or frozen)
2 medium-large medjool dates, pitted (can be replaced with 2 tbsp honey)
½ cup cooked or canned black beans, drained
1 cup 1% milk or soy milk
2 tbsp unsalted almond butter
2 tsp cocoa powder
Steps:
Measure 1 cup of sliced strawberries (thaw if frozen) and put into blender
Add the rest of the ingredients to blender
Blend until the texture is completely smooth
Strain if needed
Serve immediately or store in the refrigerator for up to 2 days
